Eight steps from first call to first cut

  1. 01

    First call

Twenty minutes. What you have done before, what site you are looking at, what you expect to earn.

  2. 02

    A day in Wahn

You spend an opening-to-close day at the flagship. Most people decide here.

  3. 03

    Site review

We look at the unit: frontage, water, three-phase power, 80–140 m², footfall counts.

  4. 04

    Numbers

A joint business case with real figures from three comparable shops in the chain.

  5. 05

    Contract

Seven-year franchise agreement, territory, and the standards schedule as an annex.

  6. 06

    Fit-out

Ten to fourteen weeks with our drawings and your local trades.

  7. 07

    Training block

Two weeks for you and your barbers at the flagship bench, plus one week on site.

  8. 08

    Opening

A standards trainer works the floor with you for the first five trading days.

Who this works for

  • A master craftsman (Meister) or a partner with one on the team — a legal requirement to trade.
  • €60,000 – €80,000 of your own capital alongside bank finance.
  • Willingness to be in the shop yourself for the first year.
  • Comfort with a standard you did not write. This is not a shop where you invent your own price list.

Franchise questions

Can I keep my existing shop name?

No. A Bartwerk shop trades as Bartwerk, with the Bartwerk fit-out and price list. That is what the customer is buying when they walk in with a pass.

Do I set my own prices?

No. The four core prices are fixed across the chain. Add-ons and retail are yours within a set range.

What territory protection do I get?

No other Bartwerk shop opens within three kilometres of yours for the term of the agreement.

What happens if a standards visit fails?

You get the written findings, thirty days and a trainer. A second failure at the same point moves to the remedy process in the agreement.
